Welcome to the GeoJourney on-line application!

Before you begin filling out the application below, you need to know some basic information.

Because the number of program participants is limited to 24 and GeoJourney is emotionally, physically, and academically challenging, the application process is competitive.  All students' application materials will be reviewed by the GeoJourney faculty.  Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

1. academic qualifications (GPA, SAT's, ACT's)
2. letters of reference
3. statement of intent

First, you will need to fill out your personal information

Second, you will need to provide some infomation about your academic potential

Third, you will need to provide current contact information for TWO references whom you have previously contacted AND are willing to fill out a short form on-line regarding your participation in GeoJourney.  Contact information should include:  name, address, phone number, and e-mail, as well as your relationship to the reference (employer, professor, etc.).  In general, the best references are those that know you well either in an academic or field setting (e.g. summer camp counselor).

Fourth, as part of this on-line application you will be asked to write a brief (a couple of paragraphs) “statement of intent” expressing a).  the reasons for your interest in GeoJourney, b).  what you feel you will get out of such a program and c.)  what you feel you can contribute to such a program.

If you are a BGSU student, by filling out this application you are providing permission for the GeoJourney Director to access your academic record for the sole purpose of acquiring your current GPA and SAT and/or ACT scores to assess your academic qualifications for GeoJourney.

Ok, so if you have contact information for references and are prepared to write a brief statement of intent you are ready to complete the application below (the rest is just some basic information about you).  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thanks!
